Among people he has met are Nobel Laureates Bishop Desmond Tutu and Aung San Suu Kyi, Jane Goodall and Nadine Gordimer, Frederich Wilhelm de Klerk and Nelson Mandela. He has written extensively on Philippine heritage and culture issues and on Philippine leading authors such as Carmen Guerrero Nakpil and Nick Joaquin. He has been published in the Philippines Daily Inquirer, the Star, Philippines Free Press, Business Day, Fookien Times Yearbook as well as in digital magazines like Positively Filipino.He has published three books, including Gloria, which was given the National Book Award in 2004.
