As described in more detail later in this report, this process is essentially one of determining the weight percentages and chemical compositions of the material that is collected from liquid baths of different specific gravities The percentage of coal that floats is commonly called recovery, and the mater ial that sinks is often called reject. A commercial preparation plant cannot provide as precise a separation of float - and sink products as that obtained in the laboratory.
