There are a variety of ways victims can be trafficked. I fell prey to traffickers as a teenager by a romeo pimp and was trapped in the life until age 33. I never graduated from high school. I'm retired from a clerk positions I held for 27 years. In March of 2015 I was appointed by Governor Snyder to serve a two-year term on the Michigan Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board and in 2017 I was re-appointed to a four-year term. I am truly blessed I made it this far. I felt compelled to write my life story and what I've learned to hopefully help others recognize their own possible victimization or maybe in someone they know. Understanding the realities of Human Trafficking can help in the communication between the victims/survivors and their advocates. My book contains information about my enlightening elearning program for health care workers that I coauthored with Patti Hathaway who is known as The CHANGE AGENT. As a bestselling author of five books, a Certified Speaking Professional, and business adviser and coach, she has helped tens of thousands of people learn to thrive, not just survive, in the challenges of nonstop change. www.thechangeagent.com Because of Patti's expertise in education and training and my experience as a survivor we were able to create a program that will change hearts and mindsets towards victims. Everybody should be educated on how to recognize red flags of abuse so they can intercede on behalf of the victim. Our program will play a critical role in preparing our country's professionals and families to help victims break out of the cycle of trauma and abuse they are in. www.humantraffickingelearning.com By reading THE REALITIES OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING, you will be better equipped to protect your loved ones and inspired to be a part of the solution to ending Human Trafficking.
