Book excerpt: One of the biggest problems encountered in beginning level solfege education is ‘what can be done to help students who cannot give the correct sounds, cannot solfege with the correct sounds, and cannot even make their voices thinner or thicker to solfege with the correct sounds. In order to solve the ‘problem of the students' inability to use their voice encountered in beginning level solfege training, the students should first be given exercises to teach them how to use and control the correct diaphragm intensity and the correct amount of air pressure according to the loudness they want to produce. Thus, the students will learn to use their voice and will be able to give the sounds they want to give correctly and solfege with the correct sounds. I hope that this book will be helpful for all solfege educators and students and will make great contributions to the field of solfege education.
