A Spirit, who has been lost for 125 years, comes to him. Billy learns that the Spirit is a boy who is trying to find and reconnect with his mother and younger brothers. The Lakota Spirit boy takes Billy and his brother Richard back through time and dreamscapes to their earlier ancestors, who teach them their ways, and also assist Billy in becoming an expert Hoop Dancer. In return for this wonderful journey, full of valuable lessons, will Billy and Richard be able to help the Spirit boy to get in touch with his family? Will they grow closer to their own family in the process? Ruth Ann Ridgeway grew up in rural Missouri and currently lives in a little town halfway between Ottumwa, Iowa and Kirksville, Missouri.
