Test rods have been included in two fuel assemblies, and the assemblies have been inserted into the Ringhals 3 pressurized water reactor. Samples from the same cladding tube variants have been subjected to steam autoclave testing in the range 400 to 500°C for different exposure times and have been characterized with respect to their microstructure.
