This simulator is expected to reduce the time and cost involved for training on da Vinci Surgical System. The thesis discusses the development of a console that preserves the kinesthetics of working on the da Vinci console, and development of a software interface with realistic physics, implementing the first two tasks of RoSS, namely the ball drop task and cylinder positioning task, and validation of the same by human subject testing.
