In UNESCO report (1996) 'Learning: The Treasure within', popularly known as Delores report, four pillars of education has been identified as the basic framework for global curriculum. Delors (1996) report states, "Education throughout life is based on four pillars: Learning to know, Learning to do, Learning to live together and Learning to be". Indian culture provides another meaning to these pillars by putting 'Learning to know' as 'Gyanyog' 'Learning to do' as 'Karmayog', 'Learning to live together' as 'Sahyog' and 'Learning to be' as 'Atmasakshatkar' i.e. self- realization which is the ultimate goal of human life.
