This book was released on 2004 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Southern Africa, with its vast natural resources and relatively skilled workforce, should be a magnet for foreign direct investment (FDI). This, however, is not the case. Indeed, even domestic investment is low, though intra-regional investment, mainly from South Africa and Mauritius is notable. This book analyses investment flows within the region and examines the role of FDI in key industries and the role of the Southern Africa Customs Union (SACU). It concludes that Southern Africa still has to shake off a reputation for instability and high risk and makes some recommendations about how that can be achieved.
