Book excerpt: The Section 107 small boat navigation study for Dunedin and Hurricane Passes was requested by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. The purpose of the study was to define the problem of navigation at Dunedin Pass and its bay tributaries and develop a plan which would effectively solve the problem. The study determined that the most practical plan of improvement would provide a navigational channel for both Dunedin and Hurricane Passes with placement of excavated material on Caladesi and Honeymoon Islands, respectively.
