Over its first fifty years, the society has held workshops, lectures, and seminars open to the public, published a Journal as well as periodic newsletters and membership lists, awarded of grants and scholarships, commissioned new music featuring the horn, established close working relationships with music teachers, and presented honors and recognition for distinctive service relating to the horn.
