Book excerpt: While living in Sedona, Arizona I kept in contact with my mother on a regular basis and decided to send her one of the short animal stories that I was writing for my retirement paper, 'The Live Wire', back in Ohio. Soon thereafter my mom encouraged me to send her another story. One thing led to another and gathered in this book are all the stories I wrote for her regarding my experiences with a menagerie of animals and people. Though I took some liberties in changing the names, all of them are true to a great extent. I want to share them with anyone who ever had the joy of experiencing the fun and joy that a creature of God can bring to a tired or worn out soul. Mary Ann Evans better known by her pen name of George Eliot once was quoted as saying:Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms. How true I have found that to be, having had a variety of agreeable friends since youth onward.
