Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As problems related to knee injuries are increasing each day, this project is an attempt to develop a simple model of the human tibio-femoral joint for a physician to use, which gives more accurate information than other simple models like the hinge model. The aim of this project was to develop surrogate models which will capture the dynamics of human knee. The first part of the project consisted of building a subject-specific finite element model of the knee and validating it against the previous studies. The finite element model was used to define the contract parameters used in the rigid body model of the knee. The next part consisted of building the surrogate models trained by dataset generated from another rigid body model. The future step would consist of using the same rigid body model developed using finite element model to generated dataset for training the surrogate models.
