Book excerpt: This Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared to evaluate the environmental effects of construction and operation of firebreaks within the southern portion of the Bloodland Range Complex. This EA was tiered off the Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) of the Ongoing Mission (U.S. Army 2006). The evaluation in this EA was based on the No Action Alternative and the Build Alternative that provides for construction of firebreaks within the southern portion of the Bloodland Range Complex to improve training and fire management capabilities. It was determined that none of the improvements considered would result in significant adverse or beneficial impacts when the proposed development is constructed, maintained, and operated in accordance with current regulations and the recommendations described in this EA. Consequently, a Finding of No Significant Impact is recommended.
