FM 3-94 explains the organization of the theater army, corps, and division headquarters and their respective command posts. It discusses subordinate units and each headquarters' organization of its units, establishment of command and support relationships, and conduct of operations. The principal audience for FM 3-94 is theater army, corps, and division commanders and staffs. It also provides relevant information regarding the organization and operations for commanders and staffs at field army, subordinate theater-level commands and brigades, geographic combatant commands, and other Service headquarters. FM 3-94 uses joint terms where applicable. Selected joint and Army terms and definitions appear in both the glossary and the text. The term for which FM 3-94 is proponent is marked with an asterisk in the glossary. Its definition is boldfaced in the text. For other terms and definitions shown in the text, the term is italicized and the number of the proponent publication follows the definition.
