Book excerpt: Billy Bob Joe Block (first introduced in Spady's memoir, Growing Up Eldon) and his cousins, along with a motley group of associates, pursue their animal-control/security-consulting/reality-show-production businesses, accidently encountering a number of exciting and often deadly run-ins with loan sharks, drug cartels, and mob families. When the 'gators are not trying to eat them, drug runners and mob families are attempting to exact revenge on "the Gang" for supposed, and even actual, interference with their legally questionable endeavors. Bumbling assassins, inept mob soldiers, and various animal pests lead Billy Bob and his cohorts into near- and not-so-near-death experiences, generating lots of belly laughs for the reader along the way. Billy Bob and his Gang's on-again, off-again relationship with the FBI and the DEA are hilarious to everyone-except certain agents of said organizations. Be prepared for a wild ride!
