Book excerpt: This policy brief is based on the evidence on the mortality and morbidity during and post-TB disease and proposes the policy approach to address the needs of people with TB-assiciated disability. The policy brief builds on existing evidence in the areas of TB, TB-comorbidities, TB in vulberable populations, disability, and rehabilitation and it is aligned with the currently WHO recommended policies and guidances on these topics. moreover, the policy brief aims at informing and promoting strengthened collaborative actions between national TB programmes with other disease programmes and health systems functions, to deliver people-centres care to people with TB-assiciated impairments and disabilities during and after TB treatment. The policy brief is intended for use by the national TB programmes, TB care providers, civil society, and other TB stakeholders, as well as the disability and rehabilitation communities.
