A separate Catalogue of these was printed in 1871, and was followed in 1874 by a short Supplement, both of which are now out of print. The present Supplement has been compiled on the same principles as the Catalogue of 1891, all works being arranged under the names of their authors (when known) and subjects. In exceptional cases, works have been catalogued under the names of their editors or publishers. The dates of publication of all works as well as their authors' names have been given, when they could be ascertained. The enclosure in square brackets of any information concerning a volume (such as the author's name or the date of publication) denotes that such information has been obtained from sources other than the title page.
