Book excerpt: Part one of this two part study contains an evaluation of the stability of Hurricane Pass, Clearwater Pass, and Dunedin Pass. The primary goal was to determine whether or not the dredging of Dunedin Pass would adversely affect the stability of Hurricane Pass or Clearwater Pass. More over, a determination was to be made as to the degree of stability that could be expected from Dunedin Pass through channel improvements. Part two of this study will examine the feasibility of connecting that portion of the Intercoastal Waterway known as "The Narrows" to the Gulf of Mexico by means of a tidal inlet. This phase of the study is expected to be completed in late March of 1987.
