Although virtually sightless, he is capable of experiencing his world through the senses of his familiar, Majam, an exquisite white cat. His compassionate nature makes it difficult for him to refuse assistance to any who ask. He does, however, recognize his limitations. When he is called upon to face a dark enemy that he realizes is far beyond his abilities to overcome, he evokes from limbo an ancient warrior, Sir Rusel Ironwood, to be his champion.
