Book excerpt: Excerpt from Transactions of the New Jersey State Dental Society for the Years 1884-5-6 State 0 New Jerso That from and after the passage of this act, it shal be unlawfu for any person to engage in the practice of den tistry in the State of New Jersey, unless said person has pursued a regular course of instruction for at least one car in a reputable den tal college chartered under some one of the nited States or foreign governments, and has graduated and received a diploma from such college, or unless the said person Shall have obtained a certificate from a board of dentists dul authorized and appointed by this act to issue such certificates, and Shall have registered his name, and the name of the said dental college, or board of dentists, in the County Clerk's office of the county in which he Shall have eu gaged in the practice of dentistry, within one month after com mencing such practice, in a book to be provided and kept for that pu ose, in the several County Clerk's offices of the several counties of t is State, and for which registry the said County Clerk Shall be entitled to demand and receive from each person registering the sum of fifty cents, and any person violating any of the provisions of this act Shall be liable to the penalties prescribed in the sixth section of the act to which this is a suppplement. 2.
